SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2

What is the difference between SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2?

SSC CGL TIER 1 :-

Number of sections:- 4

  • Quantitative Aptitude- 50 Marks
  • Reasoning- 50 Marks
  • English- 50 Marks
  • General Awareness- 50 Marks


Total- 200 Marks
Duration- 2 hours
Negative Marks- 0.25 for each wrong answer.

**Note- No sectional cutoff

Only those Candidates who clear Tier1 will be qualified for Tier2.



SSC CGL TIER 2 :-

It comprises of three different paper subjects and depending upon the category of post applied for, the candidates required to appear either in two or in all the three papers.

PAPER 1:-

Arithmetical Ability- 200 Marks

  • Number of Questions- 100
  • Duration- 2 hours
  • Negative Marks- 0.50 mark for each wrong answer.


PAPER 2:-

English Language and Comprehension- 200 Marks

  • Number of Questions- 200
  • Duration- 2 hours
  • Negative Marks- 0.25 for each wrong answer.


PAPER 3:-

Statistics- 200 Marks

  • Duration- 2 hours

 



***NOTE-

  • Paper 1 and Paper 2 are compulsory for all the categories of posts.
  • Paper 3 is compulsory only for those candidates who wish to be considered for the posts of Statistical Investigators Gr.II and Compilers respectively.


For final selection- Tier1+Tier2
Marks in both the tiers will be considered for final selection.
