SBI PO 2016 – State Bank of India which conducts the national level recruitment exam for the appointment of Probationary Officers in its branches across the country has released the notification for 2200 Probationary Officers. Aspirants will have to appear in the online examination to be held in two phases viz. Preliminary examination followed by the Main examination. The online application process will start from today i.e 04 May 2016. The last date for submission of online application form is 24 May 2016. Any eligible candidate, who aspires to join State Bank of India as a Probationary Officer, is required to register online for the Recruitment Process.
As per the last year recruitment data, approx. 20 lakhs aspirants applied for the post of Probationary Officers through SBI PO recruitment examination. As per the current scenario, banking is one of the sought after desirable job among the youth in the country as it promises a lot of perks to its employees.

Following are the minimum eligibility conditions required to be fulfilled by the aspirant to be eligible to apply:
The application process will start from today i.e 4 May 2016. Applications will be accepted via online mode only. The application form will be available on the official website of SBI. For the convenience of the candidates, the link to apply for SBI PO 2016 has been hosted on this page. Applicants must fill all the accurate details in the application form pertaining to their name, age, category, address, email ID, mobile number, educational qualification etc. Alongwith that, it is also essential to pay the required fee on or before the last date of submission of the application which is 24 May 2016. The fee can be paid in online or offline mode.
The exam will be held as computer-based test. Both the preliminary as well as Main examination will be held in online mode and will be an objective- based test with multiple choice questions. The prelim exam will consist the following sections- English Language Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. Total number of questions and maxim marks is 100. Apart from the above, candidates will also have to attempt the Descriptive test by typing on the computer. The Descriptive test shall be comprised of the following – Letter Writing, Paragraph Writing, Essay Writing, Precise Writing, and Reading Comprehension.
The bank will issue SBI PO admit card for Preliminary examination from 14 June 2016 onwards to all the candidates through its website. The admit card mentions all the particulars related to the exam venue/ address, exam date, candidate’ name, roll number etc. Examinee will have to carry the printed copy of their admit card while appearing in the both the prelims and main exam. The admit card will not be issued separately to the candidates via email or post. The candidates who qualify the preliminary examination will be able to sit for the main examination. The candidates will be issued call letters or SBI PO Admit Card 2016 from 21-07-2016 onwards.
The Syllabus is the detailed synopsis of all the topics which are important for the exam. Candidates must prepare all the topics so as to qualify the exam. The syllabus is quite vast hence; candidates must start the preparation ahead of the time. You can treat this as the preparation tracker.
The selection procedure for SBI PO is comprised of the following stages- Preliminary examination, Main examination followed by the Group Discussion & Interview process. It is essential that the candidate must successfully cross all the selection stages by qualifying the minimum cutoff marks and other applicable criteria.
The Cutoff is the minimum benchmark score decided by the authorities to screen candidates for the subsequent selection rounds. There will be sectional cutoffs in both preliminary as well as the main examination. The cutoff will be published along with the announcement of result of the prelims/ main exam. Candidate who shall fail to qualify the cutoff for prelims will be disqualified from the competition and hence, he/she will not be able to appear in the Main examination.
The result for SBI PO Exam will be published on the bank’ website. The result will be published simultaneously for the selection stages – Prelims, Main exam and lastly for the Group Discussion & Interview process.
